Big Screen Keys is an on-screen virtual keyboard designed to help individuals who find using a keyboard difficult or impossible. Big Screen Keys will type to the active window. Big Screen Keys can also be resized to quickly adjust to the user’s needs.

Quick Clock Quizzer (Windows)
Quick Clock Quizzer will quiz students on reading an analogue clock. The code for this application can be downloaded in the tutorial section.

SpeakABCs (Windows & Mac)
SpeakABCs is a program that teaches children their ABCs. When the child presses an alpha-numeric key the computer responds by speaking the letter or number and displaying it on the screen. Teachers, parents, and others can change the sound files, so the computer will speak the alpha-numeric key in the teacher’s, parent’s, or other person’s voice.

Speech Recognition Scripts (Mac)
Mac OS X comes with built-in speech recognition software. These scripts allow the computer to type characters, control Safari and FireFox for hands free web browsing, and control the mouse using voice commands. The page also has video tutorials on how to customize the commands around the user’s needs.

Time Lapse Script for VLC (Mac)
This scrips allows the Mac to use VLC to take pictures from a webcam. The pictures can be assembled into a time lapse video.

TypeIt ReadIt (Windows & Mac)
TypeIt ReadIt is a free text-to-speech application. It can read text to the user and can save text reading to sound files. TypeIt ReadIt can help users who are visually impaired, cannot read, desire to improve their reading comprehension, want to listen to how words are pronounced, or just want to listen to their documents read aloud. TypeIt ReadIt uses text-to-speech voices installed in the computer. Any language voice can be used. Mac and Windows can download additional text-to-speech voices. TypeIt ReadIt can convert text to a spoken sound file by using text-to-speech technology.

Voice4Me is designed as a quick and simple way to bring speech to users who have difficulty speaking. There are 154 Text-To-Speech areas that can be customized to meet the users needs. Also, there is a text area for the user to type whatever he/she wants the computer to say.
