The AutoFill has problems placing information into rows from data that is in columns (or placing data from columns into rows). The absolute reference $ must be used to remedy this problem. Within this tutorial, the absolute reference $ is used with the INDEX function. For users who do not have keyboard that allows for the dollar sign $, F4 (Windows) and Command T (Mac) can be used to add the dollar sign to the cells.
